
Prof. J.T.Dooga
Jerome Terpase DOOGA studied at the University of Jos and the University of Cape Town and holds a postgraduate qualification in Educational Technology and a PhD in English Language (Discourse-Pragmatics). He has served in various capacities both nationally and internationally. He was the Commonwealth of Learning (CoL) Consultant to the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) in instructional design and e-learning implementation from 2015 to 2017.
He also served as a consultant for the African Union Commission as chair of the Technical Committee of Experts that produced the Project Framework document for the establishment of the Pan African University Institute for Open and Distance eLearning (PAU-ODeL). In this capacity, he worked out the learning architecture of the institution and its curriculum (2017-2019). He was the West Africa Regional Coordinator for e-merge Africa, an online professional capacity development network for educational practitioners in African Higher Education (2013-2018). In this role, he provided training on learning design and implementation in many parts of Africa and presented many online seminars on personal and institutional learning. He has been supporting the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control and Prevention (NCDC) as a consultant to improve the quality of Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) processes in Nigerian healthcare facilities since 2019.
He has presented more than 50 papers at conferences and seminars nationally and around the world and has more than 20 published research papers to his name. Dr Dooga is a Founding member/Director of the National Institute of Caregivers and is fluent in four Nigerian languages, namely Tiv, Igbo, Hausa, and Nigerian Pidgin. He also has conversational competence in several others.
